Accused Drug Trafficker Arrested In Avon Lake: Police

Avon Lake Police stopped a Jeep Liberty and arrested the driver on a warrant for trafficking drugs, police said.

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police arrested a woman wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff's Office for drug trafficking and cited her for possession of marijuana, according to police reports.

At 5:40 a.m., officers stopped a silver Jeep Liberty on York Street, near Burton Street. The driver, a 44-year-old Avon Lake woman, had a warrant for her arrest from the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, police said.

The woman was arrested. Police then found marijuana drug paraphernalia in her possession. She was cited for that possession and then driven to meet the sheriffs.

The woman was taken to Lorain County Jail on Feb. 1.

The driver was wanted for trafficking in drugs, according to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office.

She has pleaded not guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records. The trafficking case has been handed over to the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas, for a hearing from a grand jury.
