Ambulance Thief Chased, Caught In Oberlin, Police Say
The suspect stole an ambulance from St. Johns Medical Center in Westlake and then drove it into Lorain County, police noted.

OBERLIN, OH — An ambulance van was stolen from University Hospitals' St. John Medical Center on June 29, Westlake Police said. GPS tracking helped Amherst and Oberlin Police track down the missing van and arrest the suspected thief.
The theft happened at about 8 p.m. on June 29, police said. That's when a private ambulance company reported that one of their vans had been stolen from outside the medical center. Luckily, there was no patient inside the van when it was taken, police said.
The ambulance was equipped with a GPS tracker. It was found in Lorain County, where Amherst and Oberlin police were able to locate the van as it moved through their cities.
