A roundup of national racers lists his hometown as Avon alongside other standout sportsman and pro competitors from around the country.
   

• Flight of the Flags to honor 9/11 victims with flyover in Lorain County (morningjournal.com) — A special 9/11 anniversary flyover will pass over Avon this September, carrying folded funeral flags for deceased veterans, police officers, and firefighters aboard World War II-era aircraft. The Flight of the Flags program will trace a route across Lorain County communities, and organizers plan to share approximate times so residents and first responders can step outside to watch and pay their respects.
   

• Leader of Laconia Motorcycle Week dies from injuries in motorcycle crash (wmtw.com) — A prominent New Hampshire lawmaker and longtime leader of Laconia Motorcycle Week has died from injuries suffered in an August 4 motorcycle crash while riding through Avon. He passed away Saturday at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, and organizers say details about memorial services will be shared later with the many riders and supporters who followed his work.
