AVON/NORTH RIDGEVILLE: Pact with North Ridgeville finalized (westlifenews.com) β Avon drivers should expect intermittent overnight closures on Mills Road through late October or early November as the city and North Ridgeville share a $2.16 million resurfacing project. Avon City Council also advanced plans for Cleveland Clinic's major campus expansion, a second fire station on the southeast side, and improvements to the Stoney RidgeβKinzel intersection and Route 83 sidewalks.

Ohio investigators believe 'Jane Doe' may have Kentucky connections (wkyt.com) β Avon police are renewing efforts to identify a woman known only as "Janet," who died in a 1965 car crash near Cleveland and may have family ties across Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee. Investigators, working with the DNA Doe Project, hope modern DNA and genealogy tools plus public tips can finally give this decades-old Avon-linked Jane Doe her real name.

The list tracks how Avon, Avon Lake, North Ridgeville and nearby schools are shuffling spots as league play heats up this week.

Sheffield police officer's widow sues Lorain County, alleging wrongful death after 911 technology outage (chroniclet.com) β A wrongful-death lawsuit claims a November 2025 outage in Lorain County's 911 dispatch technology delayed paramedics by about four minutes on a shared radio channel serving Sheffield Lake, Sheffield, Avon, and Avon Lake. The widow of Sheffield police Lt. Aaron Bober argues that known problems with the CAD and Locution systems put the entire public at risk and contributed to his death after a cardiac emergency.
