Anchor Recreation Center Broken Into, Wrecked By Suspect
A window on the facility was smashed, a vending machine was tipped over, a fire extinguisher was sprayed, and other damage was done.

AVON LAKE, OH — Someone broke into the Anchor Recreation Center and tried to break into Tailgators Bar on Dec. 1. The suspect tipped over a vending machine, sprayed a fire extinguisher, and broke a wall light at Anchor.
Police believe the break-in happened in the early morning hours, at approximately 3 a.m. Staff at the recreation facility called police when they arrived at 8 a.m. and found the facility in disarray.
While investigating what happened, officers found a broken window near the Rockin Rails Music Studio upstairs. It's possible the suspect got into Anchor through the window.

The owner of Tailgators then contacted police and told them someone had tried to break into his bar overnight. Two rear windows had been smashed and the back door was damaged from someone attempting to kick it in.
Surveillance footage and evidence from both locations was reviewed to identify a possible culprit. A 27-year-old from Sheffield Lake was fingered as the lead suspect and has since been arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
