Anti-Bullying Program Coming To Avon Lake

"Rachel's Challenge" honors the memory of Rachel Joy Scott who was killed in the Columbine High School shooting.

AVON LAKE, OH — An anti-bullying intervention program will be held for the Avon Lake Schools on Aug. 29. "Rachel's Challenge" is a bullying intervention program and an event will be held Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Dr. Daniel B. Ross Performing Arts Center, 175 Avon Belden Road.

The event is geared for students in grades 7 and up. Families of students are also invited to attend the event.

The "Rachel's Challenge" program was founded in honor of Rachel Joy Scott, who was killed in the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999. The event will feature a presentation about the girl's dreams and how they're being fulfilled a decade after her death.
