Arsonist In Avon Lake? Police Think So

AVON LAKE, OH - Two vehicles were set on fire in Avon Lake on March 29. Police say the two incidents may be related and are currently investigating for links.

The first fire was reported in the early morning of March 29. Residents at 251 Fay Avenue reported hearing a loud noise outside their home. Police came to the scene and found a car on fire in the driveway. The fire was extinguished by Avon Lake Fire and the scene was processed by police.

The second fire came later in the day at 32375 Stoney BRook. This tiem there was a report of fire damage to a truck. Police found the driver's side of the truck had fire damage. The scene was processed by police.

While investigating the second incident, a canvass of the surrounding area revealed that a nearby mailbox had been burnt. Two other mailboxes were also damaged and found to have bent doors.

The Avon Lake Police Department is actively working these cases and believes they are related. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the ALPD Detective Bureau at 440-933-2211.
