Authorities Raid Avon Massage Parlor
An Avon massage parlor was one of 16 businesses raided by law enforcement on Wednesday.
AVON, OH — An Avon massage parlor was raided by law enforcement on Wednesday, the Ohio Investigative Unit announced. Authorities executed warrants throughout Northeast Ohio as part of a region-wide investigation into possible prostitution.
Posh Massage, on Detroit Road, was among law enforcement's targets. Authorities raided 15 other massage parlors throughout the region on Wednesday.
The Secret Service and Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU) said they took multiple people into custody during the raids, all as part of an investigation into a long-term commercial sex operation. The investigation began in 2017 when law enforcement got a tip there was possible illegal activity happening at a group of Northeast Ohio massage parlors.

“We will not turn a blind eye to criminal enterprises, such as this one,” said Major Gary Allen, OIU commander. “We will continue to work with our partners to hold those accountable for their roles in commercial sex businesses.”
Over two years, investigators came to believe there was a group of people running a pay-for-sex scheme through massage parlors. On Wednesday, the investigation culminated in a region-wide raid of 16 businesses.
