Avon 3rd Grader Wins T-Shirt Design Competition

Camryn Dennis, 9, is the winner of the 2017 Eagle Run Kids T-shirt Design Contest.

AVON, OH - Camryn Dennis, 9, is the winner of the 2017 Eagle Run Kids T-shirt Design Contest. Dennis is a third-grader at Avon Heritage Elementary School and Avon Local Schools Superintendent Mike Laub presented Dennis with her finalized, winning design.

Dennis' design will be featured on the Kids Fun Run T-shirts at the 17th Annual Eagle Run, sponsored by Mercy Health. Dennis got a certificate and a goodie bag full of fun items from Mercy and the school district. Dennis also got a four-pack of tickets to an upcoming Lake Erie Crushers baseball game.

“I always see the eagle logo but I wanted to create a cartoon eagle,” said Dennis regarding her design, in a statement. This is the first time she entered the contest which was open to students grades pre-K to fifth.

Gianna Andress, fourth-grade, and Cody Canning, second-grade, also received Certificates of Recognition and goodie bags.

The 17th Annual Eagle Run will be held May 27 at Avon High School. To register for the event, click here. Pre-registration for the 5K and 5-mile is $25. The 1-mile Kids Fun Run, for children ages 13 and under, is $10 and includes a T-shirt.

The 5-Mile Run will start at 8 a.m. on May 27. The 5K Run/Walk will start at 8:15 a.m. and the 1-Mile Kids Fun Run will be held at 9:30 a.m.
