Avon Announces Final 2020 Community Service Award Winner

AVON, OH — Lifelong Avon resident Nancy McGhee received 2020's final Community Service Award this week.

McGhee has spent years working with the Avon Historical Society, the Avon Senior Center and St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception. She has dedicated her time to boosters, fish fries and the annual Oktoberfest event.

McGhee also spent years working with Tom's Country Place, which Mayor Bryan Jensen said is dedicated to Avon.

“It only seemed fitting with the ending of 2020 to recognize someone who, through all of life’s struggles, has still managed to fight and have a smile on her face. Her hugs make my day!” Jensen said in a proclamation.

City officials sent a similar, though succinct message: "Congratulations to Nancy for all you do for the City of Avon!"
