Avon-Avon Lake Rivalry Gets Playoff Touch: Teams to Play in Opening Round of Football Playoffs

AVON, OH - The Avon Eagles ran the gauntlet and finished the season unblemished, holding a glistening 10-0 record. They will roll into the state playoffs as the number one seed from Division II, Region 6. Waiting for them in the opening round is their rival and crosstown foe, Avon Lake (7-3).

The teams met once this season, with Avon winning the game by a score of 31-7. Now the Avon Lake Shoremen will look to spoil the magical run from the Eagle by upsetting the region's number one seed.

The two teams will do battle on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The Regional Semifinals will be played Nov. 11. The Regional Finals will be played Nov. 18 and Nov. 19. Then the State Semifinals will be played Nov. 25 and Nov. 26.
