Avon Company Surpasses First Harvest for Hunger Goal

Willoway Nurses Inc. collected more than 2,500 in four weeks for Second Harvest Food Bank.

Hungry to give back to the community, Willoway Nurseries Inc. collected 2,500 units of nonperishable food items in only a month for its first Harvest for Hunger campaign.

The company’s original goal was 500 units, which it greatly surpassed, reported by The Morning Journal. A unit is defined as either one item or a dollar donated to the campaign, the Morning Journal reported.

There were 375 employees involved in the initiative, with morning meetings geared toward reviewing a scoreboard of their progress. The items were all then donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, the last of which were picked up on April 11 when the campaign officially ended, the Morning Journal reported.
