Avon Coronavirus Update: 17 New Cases, 1 Death
The majority of new COVID-19 cases are among Avon residents 35 and younger.
AVON, OH — Last week, health officials confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 among Avon residents.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 103 cases of COVID-19 among Avon residents. The majority of the new positive cases were among residents 35 or younger, Avon officials said.
One Avon resident, a person in their 60s, died due to complications from COVID-19, city officials said.

Last week, Lorain County was downgraded to a Level 2 or "orange" county for its COVID-19 spread.
Gov. Mike DeWine said the county was close to still being classified as Level 3 or "red," so residents should continue to follow social distancing requirements, wear masks and limit outside contact.

"Although Butler, Lorain, Summit, and Wood are seeing a slower increase in spread and are now at Orange Alert Level 2, they remain at the CDC's definition of moderately-high incidence of COVID-19," DeWine said.
