Avon Council Approves Money for New Water Meters

Residents will be scheduling appointments to have new water meters installed that are more technologically advanced.

The Avon City Council voted unanimously on Monday for $3 million in bonds to be issued to pay for the new water meters in resident’s homes, Cleveland.com reported. Approximately 9800 meters will be installed over the summer, a process that is hoped to be completed by September or October of this year.

Patch previously reported that Avon Water customers will have to schedule appointments to have their meters changed. Each meter will cost an estimated $250 and will be based on cellular technology.

Residents are encouraged to schedule an appointment with PMI to ensure the replacement process goes as smoothly as possible. Representatives from the company will enter your home to replace your old water meter with a new meter and meter reading device. Typically, it's a 45 minute process to install the new meter.
