AVON, OH - The undefeated football team isn't the only thing the Avon community should be celebrating. The school's marching band qualified for state competition last weekend.

The band scored a 244.2 at last weekend's Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) competition at Perkins High School, which is almost 30 points higher than last year's outing at Perkins. The competition is scored on a 300 point scale.

The band came in third overall out of 10 bands, behind only Amherst Steele and Brunswick high schools. The Color Guard placed ahead of Amherst, finishing second only to Brunswick.
