Avon Lake Baby Eagles Get Names
A trio of eaglets born this year have been named by Redwood Elementary School students.

AVON LAKE, OH - The students at Redwood Elementary have named the trio of baby eagles born near the school this year. The eaglets were dubbed Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson, continuing a theme of patriotic names.
For the past several years, the eagle's nest near Redwood has produced baby eagles. School officials mounted a video camera above the nest, providing around-the-clock surveillance of the eagles.
The nest was built by two adult bald eagles, named Stars and Stripes by earlier classes of students. The pair of eagles have produced two to three baby eagles each year for the past several years. After the eaglets hatch, the students at Redwood vote on possible names for the baby eagles.
