Avon Lake Car Vandalized, Covered In Bananas, Pizza, Eggs

Pranksters slathered the car in all types of food. That and other incidents in part one of this week's police blotter.

AVON LAKE, OH - Someone unloaded their groceries on an unsuspecting car a couple of weeks ago. Vandalism may be too soft a word for a car that gets covered in eggs, pizza, and bananas. Read on for more information.

Found Property, Feb. 24 - Car keys were found near the intersection of Windward Way and Leeward Court. A passerby gave the keys to police and officers posted images of the keys on Facebook. The owner of the keys contacted the department and police returned the keys to her.

Criminal Damaging, Feb. 25 - Some merry pranksters took things way too far. Police were called to Crestwood Drive for report of a car being vandalized. When the officer arrived he found that a vehicle covered in eggs, pizza, and bananas.

Breaking and Entering, Feb. 26 - A Parkwood Avenue resident reported that someone kicked in their main garage door during the early afternoon of Feb. 26. The resident's daughters reported the break-in. They were at-home during the time of the incident and reported hearing a loud bang and then a man fleeing the area in a white truck. Nothing has been reported stolen.

Driving Under Suspension, Feb. 26 - Police stopped a vehicle on Avon Belden Road after the car failed to stop for a passing emergency vehicle. The driver was cited for driving under suspension and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle.

Animal At Large, Feb. 28 - Callers reported that a large grey dog was running loose in their neighborhood. Police were able to locate the dog but they weren't able to wrangle the animal. Officers located the owner of the dog, but he too was unable to catch the loose animal. The dog returned home the next morning and the owner was cited for Animal-at-Large.

Found Bicycle, Feb. 28 - Police were called to 100 Community Drive to pick up an unclaimed bicycle. The cycle was brought back to the station and is being kept in the impound lot. It is a 7 speed light green Electra Townie with 26 inch rims. The serial number is WTU191TC0241K. The global entry number is 4451.
