Avon Lake Changes City Council Meeting Policies Amid Coronavirus
Residents can stream the meetings live and submit questions via email or text message. Attendance at meetings will be barred.
AVON LAKE, OH — To comply with social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus outbreak, Avon Lake will combine its city council and collective committee meetings, eliminating two meetings a month. Meetings will now be held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month and will start at 6:30 p.m.
All meetings, with one exception, will be closed to the public, but can be watched live through the city's Facebook, on the city's website or on public access cable TV channels WOW! channel 21 and Spectrum channel 1025.
The April 13 meeting will allow a small number of residents, 10, to sit-in on the session. The meeting is open to the public because council members will be holding a hearing on how to avoid the loss of two businesses that wanted to build in Avon Lake.
