Avon Lake City Council Seeking Ward 1 Replacement

AVON LAKE, OH — With Ward 1 Councilman Rob James resigning, Avon Lake City Council is looking to find his replacement. Whoever is appointed to James' seat will serve until Dec. 31, 2021.

James is moving to a different part of Avon Lake, moving him out of Ward 1. Residents who live in the district are eligible to fill his seat. To apply for the position, residents should submit resumes and letters of interest.

To qualify, residents must live in Ward 1 and be a registered voter in Avon Lake. Residents must also live in Ward 1 throughout the duration of their tenure. Candidates cannot hold any other public office, or work for the city, to be considered.

Whoever is appointed the Ward 1 representative will serve out James' term, which ends Dec. 31, 2021. To continue serving, the candidate will need be re-elected on Nov. 7, 2021.
