Avon Lake Elementary Student Helps Create New Ice Cream Flavor

Eastview's Peanut Butter S'Mores flavor is coming to Divine Scoops, courtesy of a second grade Avon Lake student.

AVON LAKE, OH - It's a well known fact. We all scream for ice cream. Now, thanks to a student at Eastview Elementary School, we all have a new flavor to shout for.

As part of the Acts of Kindness Project, which started in November 2016 and encourages the Eastview students to perform four acts of kindness a month, the ice cream company Divine Schools began offering a free junior size ice cream treat to participating students.

The company, located at 140 Lear Rd., Avon Lake, decided to push their collaboration with Eastview and the Acts of Kindness program one step further. To encourage more students, the company started the Ice Cream Flavor Contest. Students were given a chance to submit flavor ideas and vote on which flavor they would like to see created.

Divine Scoops is now temporarily producing the winning flavor, which was announced Feb. 3 during a special assembly.

Second grader Tyler Fenton's flavor, Eastview's Peanut Butter S'Mores, was the winner. A total of 575 votes were cast in the contest and Fenton's flavor was selected. The flavor includes peanut butter ice cream, chunks of chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows.
