The band was required to perform "Incantation and Dance" by John Barnes Chance, a wind bands composition from the 1960s. The band finished with "Arabesque" a dramatic composition from contemporary composer Sam Hazo.
The band earned glowing comments from the OMEA judges. One judge said the Avon Lake Symphonic Band produced "a very beautiful band sound" and that the band was "very impressive both technically and musically."
