Avon Lake High School Chorale Advances as 3 Students Make All-State
The school's chorale has advanced to the state adjudicated event, while three students have been selected for the all-state choir.

The Avon Lake High School Chorale will perform in the Ohio Music Education State Adjudicated Event after earning a superior rating at the District Large Event in March.
The chorale hopes to earn a similar rating during its performance on April 22, according to a post on the district’s Facebook page. The Chorale will perform in the AA category, the highest level of difficulty.
The group will perform the following pieces: “Ubi Caritas” by Maurice Durufle, “The Lady in the Water” by Eric William Barnum and “Rockin' Jerusalem” by Stacey Gibbs. The Chorale is the highest choir at the school and is a select ensemble of juniors, seniors and some sophomores.

The page also announced that three students were among the 166 chorale singers selected for the Ohio Music Education Association All-State Choir. Seniors Sarah Higley and Emily Cline and junior Caleb Orr participated in regional rehearsals and came together with their peers in Cincinnati in late January to perform. Senior Sarah Scott was chosen as an alternate.
“The OMEA All-State Choir is the best of choral students throughout Ohio," ALHS Director of Choral Activities Michael K. Lisi said in the post. "Many schools do not have any representation; to have four selected is a major achievement for Avon Lake High School.”
