Avon Lake Homecoming Week Details

The community will have plenty of opportunities to display their Avon Lake pride during Homecoming week.

AVON LAKE, OH β€” Avon Lake Homecoming week will be held September 30 through October 4, and features a football game against Amherst. Prior to the game, the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.

Individual schools will set their theme days for Homecoming week. Then, on October 4, the Avon Lake Shoremen will take on Amherst at 7 p.m. The Homecoming court will be announced before kick-off.

A Homecoming parade will be held the next morning, October 5, at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start at Bleser Park and then move through housing developments adjacent to Avon Belden Road and end at Avon Lake High School.

That evening, Avon Lake High students will have their Homecoming dance. This year's theme is Candyland.

To round-out Homecoming week, the Avon Lake Kiwanis Scholarship Pancake Breakfast will be held October 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Avon Lake High School. Tickets are $6 presale and $7 at the door. Children ages 4-11 pay $2 for admission and children under 4 are free.

Proceeds from the breakfast benefit the Kiwanis Scholarship Program. Over the past six years, more than $98,000 has been awarded to Avon Lake's college-bound seniors through the program.
