Avon Lake Meeting To Address February Flooding is March 24
Residents who experienced basement and home flooding after recent rains and thaw are encouraged to attend.

Residents that were affected by flooding after the are encouraged to attend a meeting at at 7 p.m. on March 24 in council chambers.
“Due to the number of basements that were flooded…several weeks ago, there has been a lot of concern from residents for how, what, where,” Councilman Larry Meiners, who heads the Sewer Committee, said.
The meeting is open to the public.

“Anyone that had basement flooding or flooding that occurred after the storm should come,” Councilwoman Councilwoman Jennifer Fenderbosch said.
Although information will be presented and residents comments and questions are welcome, the meeting is a formal Sewer Committee meeting. Meiners said Avon Lake Municipal Utilities Chief Utilities Executive Todd Danielson will be there and expects other city leaders to be present also.

“We do expect a large crowd,” Meiners said. “But it will be a Sewer Committee meeting with all the diplomacy and respect will asked to be acknowledged.”
Many residents in the Greater Cleveland area experienced flooded yards, basements and homes after a rainstorm Feb. 28 that dumped several inches of rain overnight. There were widespread reports of flooded basements in Avon Lake and one road, Beachwood Avenue, was flooded.
The meeting will offer information about why flooding occurred after the storms as well as suggestions that may help limit flooding in the event of future storms.
