Avon Lake Middle Schooler Brings Knife To School
The school's principal contacted police and had the knife confiscated. The matter is being referred to juvenile court.

AVON LAKE, OH - A local middle school student got himself in hot water after he brought a knife to school. The weapon was discovered and the school principal requested police confiscate the weapon and speak to the student. Read on for more information on that incident and others.
Criminal Mischief, March 22 - Police received a complaint that someone had sprayed graffiti and feces in Blesser Park. Avon Lake's Service Department responded to clean up the area, including the graffiti.
Animal Attack, March 22 - A woman was walking her dog on Jaycox Road when another dog ran up and bit her pet. The owner of the attacking dog was cited for losing control of his animal.

Weapons Violation, March 22 - A student at Learwood Middle School brought a knife to school, police reports say. The principal of the school asked police to come to the school to confiscate the knife and speak to the student. The matter has been referred to juvenile court.
Drug Investigation, March 23 - An employee of a local gas station called police when a man appeared to pass out in the driver's seat of an F-150 in the parking lot. Police responded to the gas station and were able to wake the driver up. The driver checked out OK with police and was released after refusing medical treatment.

Telecommunications Harassment, March 24 - Police were contacted by a female resident who said she was being harassed by two people via phone. Officers were able to find the harassers and advised them to stop contacting the woman.
All Other Offenses, March 26 - Late in the evening, a resident contacted police to report that someone had dumped a decomposing animal on the breakwall below Vineyard Road. Police determined an area resident had thrown the animal into the lake, but the type of animal has not been determined.
Trespassing, March 27 - Someone entered a home on Avon Point Avenue while the house was having work done.
Assisting Another Agency, March 29 - Police were sent to 251 Fay Avenue for reports of a vehicle fire. A 2010 blue Honda Civic was ablaze in the driveway of a home. The car was approximately 15 feet from the home. The fire department was able to put the fire out. A cause for the fire has not been determined.
