Avon Lake Police Blotter: Teen Threw Beer Bottle At Apartment

Plus, tax fraud season hits an Avon Lake resident and a teenager is busted for smoking marijuana in a parking lot.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police arrested a man after he threw a beer bottle at a building window on Saturday. The man was apparently arguing with his girlfriend when he decided the best way to express his anger was by hurling an object at a plate of glass. Predictably, things did not work out great for him.

Fraud, April 17 — Tax season is never complete until there's at least a couple of tax frauds. An Avon Lake resident was filling out her returns when Turbo Tax informed her that her state income tax had already been filed. The woman is contacting the government's fraud department.

Identity Theft, April 18 — An Aqua Marine Boulevard woman told Avon Lake Police that someone attempted to open a credit card using her information.

Theft, April 17 — A 60-year-old man left his room at Towne Center to go to rehab. When he came back, $220 was missing.

Possession of a Controlled Substance, April 21 — A 19-year-old was cited for possession of marijuana. Police spotted the teenager sitting in a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Walker Road.

Disturbance, April 21 — A woman said her boyfriend threw a beer bottle at the front door window of her building. The boyfriend was arrested and charged with underage consumption (he was 19) and disorderly conduct.
