Avon Lake Police Blotters: Wayward Toilet Found, Bicyclist Struck by Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Avon Lake police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

This week in the Avon Lake police blotters yielded an interesting mix of incidents. The following is from May 20 – May 24.

Man on bike struck by car

A bicycle ride was injured in a car vs. bike collision May 20 at Electric Boulevard near Herrmann Drive. The bike rider was alert and speaking when paramedics arrived and was taken for medical treatment. No citations were issued in connection with the accident.

Staying vigilant

Neighbors kept an eye out neighbors this week. On May 20, a resident called police to report that somebody was trying to enter a neighbor's home on Vineyard through a rear window. Earlier, a Moore Road resident reported seeing a person with a flashlight walking around a vehicle. Both situations checked out ok.

Nature calls

Somebody reported that a toilet was sitting in the roadway at Bridgeside and Walker roads on May 23. The toilet was removed.

Deer at large

On May 21, a resident reported an injured deer in the grass at Erieview School, close to where children were playing. The deer was gone when police arrived. On May 20, police received a report of a deer with a broken leg behind the school. On May 19, an injured deer was reported to be laying near the water on Lake Road.
