Avon Lake Resident's Car Covered in Spray Paint, Eggs, and Bologna

AVON LAKE, OH - A group of would-be trouble makers hit a Tradewinds Drive car, covering it in spray paint, eggs, and bologna. Luckily, police were able to catch the hooligans. Read on for more incidents below.

Identity Theft, Jan. 24 - A resident reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon Wireless account in New Jersey. Verizon's fraud department is looking into the matter.

Theft, Jan. 24 - Mail was stolen from the mailbox of Jake's on the Lake. The owner was later contacted by a man who said he was in possession of the mail. The two met in a parking lot and the mail was returned. The owner said he believes the man stole the mail.

Criminal Damaging, Jan. 24 - A car at a Tradewinds Drive home was badly vandalized. Someone or someones spray painted the vehicle, egged it, and covered it in bologna. Police were able to locate the suspects and restitution was made.

Theft, Jan. 17 - A gun was stolen from a Belle Road resident's home sometime in December. There were no signs of forced entry in the home and nothing else was stolen. Police have no suspects at this time.

Traffic Offense, Jan. 18 - Expired license plates led police to run registration checks on a vehicle. They found the owner had a suspended license. They stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of Speedway, 32769 Walker Rd., and transported the driver and her son home. The car remained in the parking lot of Speedway for the time being.

Civil Matter, Jan. 19 - A woman fled Ohio with her 1-year-old daughter, despite a court order saying the child could not leave the county. Police made contact with the woman and she willing returned to the county.
