Avon Lake Snowball Fight Becomes Police Matter

One man was throwing snowballs at his neighbor's house. The snowballs did some damage and a report was filed with police.

AVON LAKE, OH - Throwing snowballs is a symbol of the season. It's a seasonal joy between friends to beam each other with snowballs. One man may have taken the act too far when he decided to launch snowballs at his neighbor's house. That and other incidents in this week's police blotter.

Criminal Damaging, Jan. 5 - Someone destroyed a mailbox in front of a Highland Avenue home.

Driving Under Suspension, Jan. 6 - Police stopped a blue Honda going west on Electric Boulevard. The woman was driving despite a suspension for OVI. Her car was towed.

OVI, Jan. 7 - Police saw a vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic on Jaycox Road at about 1 a.m. The car did not move through two light cycles. The driver was asleep at the wheel. Officers woke the man and arrested him driving while intoxicated.

Criminal Damaging, Jan. 8 - A neighborly dispute spilled into a police matter. A Lake Road resident came to the police station to report that his neighbor was damaging his house by throwing snowballs at it. The neighbor was on camera throwing the snowballs. No charges were pressed, but the neighbor was warned to stop throwing snowballs.
