
Avon Lake traveled to Strongsville to battle the 6th ranked Lady Mustangs on Monday night and saw Strongsville score a pair of goals in each half to earn a 4-0 victory over the Shoregals.
Strongsville led off the scoring 4 minutes into the match on a goal by senior forward Alissa Lisi where she muscled her way through the Shoregal defense to get a shot off. Later on in the half with 8 minutes remaining senior Maddy Novak took a pass from junior Dominique Dinardo and buried it in the back of the net for a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, junior forward Rachel Schirripa was the recipient of a pass from senior mid Connie Morino to score the Lady Mustangs third goal. Strongsville wrapped up the scoring by masterfully moving through the Avon Lake defense with Dinardo delivering a beautiful pass to senior Andrea Larsen for a picture perfect goal. For their part, the Shoregals managed 3 shots on goal – two by freshman Olivia Siko and one by senior Molly Maloney.

Goalkeeper duties for Strongsville were shared by senior Sarah Baskey with 3 saves in the first half and Sam Ortenzi took over in the second half. For the Shoregals, senior Amy Crooks made 7 saves in first half duty and sophomore Elise Duval recorded 5 saves in the second half. Defender Rada Zunich also blocked a shot on goal.
In JV action, Avon Lake and Strongsville battled to a 0-0 draw in an exciting game that featured many scoring opportunities for both teams. Sophomore.goalie Elise Duvall recorded the shutout for the Shoregals who move to 4-1-1 on the season.
