Avon Lake Woman Asks Police To Help Her Get Into Her Locked Car, Forgets She Has Weed In Car

As soon as the car door had been opened, a smell of marijuana wafted out of the car. The woman ended up being cited for possession of weed.

AVON LAKE, OH - If you get locked out of your car, and you have your illegal recreational drugs inside that car, it's probably smart to not call the police for help. Try a neighbor, or watch a YouTube video on how to use a coat hanger to unlock the car. Or, and this is the easiest option, just don't buy illegal drugs.

Found Property, March 3 - Police were called to a home on Norman Avenue for reports of a theft of jewelry. However, the resident later located the jewelry within the house and realized the items had been merely missing.

Identity Theft, March 3 - Verizon Wireless contacted a customer in Avon Lake and told them that someone had tried to open seven accounts in their name.

Criminal Damaging, March 3 - The men's restroom at the Avon Lake Public Library was damaged. A representative from the Avon Lake Public Library presented photographs of the two juveniles believed to have been responsible for the damaging. Police said they are going to contact the parents of the juveniles involved.

Theft, March 8 - A business on Pin Oak Parkway reported that it shipped products to a person who ordered them online using a stolen credit card.

Fraud, March 10 - An Avon Lake resident went to the police station and reported a possible scam.

Possession of Controlled Substance, March 11 - A Hermann Drive woman called police on March 11 and reported that she had locked herself out of her car. Police arrived and helped her open the car. However, once the car had been opened, a strong smell of marijuana wafted out of the car. The woman was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Disturbance, March 13 - A couple on Redwood Drive got into an argument and the male half of the couple grabbed a set of keys and stormed out of the home.
