Avon Lakes Schools Calendar: Must-Know Dates for Winter 2016-17

AVON LAKE, OH - Students are back in school for just a few more weeks until the extended winter holidays. And parents better pull out the calendar now and start making plans.

Avon Lake students get about a week and a half off from school for the holidays. According to the school district calendar for 2016-17, the winter holiday begins on Dec. 22 and runs through Monday, Jan. 2.

Here's the complete winter schedule for Avon Lake Public Schools:

• Winter Break: Dec. 22 - Jan. 2
• End of Second Quarter: Jan. 12
• Teacher Inservice (no school for students): Jan. 13
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day (no school): Jan. 16
• Washington's Birthday (no school): Feb. 20

Avon Lake Library is hosting the Jingle Bell Jam, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. The night will feature fun music and kids are invited to wear their PJs and boogie. The library will then be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
