Avon Lake's Westview Elementary is One Cool School
Students celebrate as school is selected by Fox 8 as "Cool School of the Week."
Westview Elementary School in Avon Lake was featured as the Fox 8 news Cool School of the Week on March 3 and students didn't hold back in showing off their pride for the cameras.
"Students showed their spirit by wearing maroon and gold (the colors of Avon Lake City Schools) and painted their faces," Becky Reisinger, Public Relations Chairperson for Westview Elementary School PTA said. "Each grade had to chance to boast about the wonderful things they are learning."
Indeed. Students on camera talked about K-Kids Club, choir and student council as reasons their school rocks. The Wildcats also cited building improvements, academics and the Stomper reading program, where students earn two tickets to a Lake Erie Crushers game for meeting reading goals, as reasons they love their school.
