Avon Heritage Elementary Takes Part in National Computer Science Week

The district held events at different schools to celebrate coding, robotics, and other tech-focused activities.

AVON, OH - Avon Heritage Elementary recently took part in National Computer Science Week by having the students participate in coding and robotics activities.

A grant, of just over $22,000 from the Nordson Corporation Foundation, was used for the purchase of materials and supplies for the Technology Learning Lab. As part of the grant, the district provided some additional materials and supplies, computers, and transportation for students from other buildings to visit the lab and participate in a variety of learning experiences.

Avon High School also held an event to participate in National Computer Science Week. State Senator Gayle Manning and Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen both joined the students for the event, popping in and observing the students during their coding efforts.
