Avon Schools Board to Move into Former Village School Building

The Avon Local School District Board of Education will be moving to an expanded space inside the former Avon Village School building. The building has also been expanded to accommodate the Board. They will be operating from that location starting April 4 according to cleveland.com.

Their previous office, a nearly 90-year-old house on Detroit Road, has become too small for the Board to properly function. In some cases, closets have been converted into cramped offices.

“We have clearly outgrown our current offices," Superintendent Michael Laub said in the article. "There is not enough room for all of the staff."

In order to move into the former school building, a $500,000 renovation project was completed in three months. The project mainly turned classrooms into office space by constructing additional walls, drop ceilings, drywall and installing new wiring.

The Board is looking into uses for the other two floors of the former school building. As of now, the two floors, along with their former office, will most likely to be used for storage
