The district announced on its website that schools would be closed through the end of the week due to weather.
AVON, OH — The Avon City Schools will closed Thursday, Jan. 4, and Friday, Jan. 5, due to weather, the district announced on its website. Freezing cold temperatures have swept into Northeast Ohio, with wind chill temperatures in the -15 degree region. Thirty minutes of exposure to that cold can cause frost bite, according to the National Weather Service.
