Avon Schools Offering Summer Camps For Students K-5

AVON, OH - The Avon Schools are offering a pilot summer camp program this year for students finishing grades K-5 in the 2016-2017 school year. The district will offer three 2-week camps throughout the summer. Each camp will require registration and a registration fee.

The three camps that will be offered, in order, are Space Camp, Let's Get WILD!, and Under the Sea. The cost for each camp is the same: $350 will be due 30 days prior to a camp's start, and a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Snacks will be included in the fees.

All three camps will run from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students can be dropped off or picked-up at any time during the camp's hours, the district says on its website.

The Space Camp will run June 19-June 30. During that camp, students will get to take a field trip to Oberlin College on June 30, and will get weekly content from Get With the Program, Young Rembrandts, The Little Gym of Avon, and Bricks4Kidz. To register for that camp, click here.

The Let's Get WILD! camp will run from July 10-21. That camp will feature a field trip to the Cleveland Zoo on July 21. Students will be able to walk around the zoo and see animals in their habitats, while being accompanied by a chaperone. The district will again partner with Get With the Program, Young Rembrandts, The Little Gym of Avon and Bricks4Kid for weekly content. To register for that camp, click here.

The Under the Sea camp will run from July 24-August 4. On August 4, participants will get to take a field trip to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. During that trip, students will get to take a 1-hour tour of the grounds and participate in a scavenger hunt.
