AVON, OH — Republic Services will temporarily suspend bulky and yard waste collection in Avon, the company announced in a letter to the community. There has been a surge in residential waste because more Ohioans are working from home.

In the letter, which was shared by the city on Facebook, Republic Services said drivers will not be authorized to leave their vehicles. That means any waste outside of a cart will be left on a resident's property.

The company is also suspending yard waste and bulky waste collection services until after the crisis passes.

Similar policies — suspending bulky and yard waste collection — have been implemented throughout Ohio.
