Bites Nearby: Thai Chilli Brings Authentic Thai Flavor to the Table
This small Avon Lake restaurant serves Thai food the way it's meant to be served.

My first visit to (the restaurant also goes by "Thai Chili") was during the winter months. Two words best described the atmosphere: cozy and romantic.
I started my meal with Tom Yam soup, while my companion decided on the traditional Wonton soup. Not sure what to expect, the Tom Yam hit the spot on a cold snowy day. Loaded with chicken, it was creamy but also had a citrus taste to it, as there was a hint of lime to it.
A sample of her Wonton soup was also unexpected. Unlike the kind you get in many Asian restaurants, the chef at Thai Chilli used wontons stuffed with shrimp.

Recently I have become a fan of Pad Thai, and of the numerous places I have had it, Thai Chilli's was perhaps the best. Many of these other Thai places had the exact same taste as each other, but here it was a different experience.
The reason for this, I was told by my wait staff, is that the owners are originally from Thailand and use only the freshest ingredients in their recipes, and the chef is from Bangkok.

My companion loves a little spice in her food, and she got her Pad Thai hot. I ordered my dish with Thai medium, and it was succulent. A taste of hers had my sinuses cleared out, but the taste gave the dish an authentic taste, although extremely hot for those who have sensitive taste buds.
On my second visit, we were both thirsty, and our wait staff suggested the bubble tea. So I went with the Mango flavor and wasn't disappointed. After a quick glance at the menu, my companion and I decided to start with appetizers. I went with the Satay chicken. It came with four pieces, and the peanut sauce was just what the palate ordered. She chose the Siam Rolls. A taste of these once again, showed why Thai Chilli is authentic. The vegetables were fresh, and the sweet sauce had a nice tang to it.
For my dish, I decided to go with the Penang salmon. It was unbelievable. You could taste the curry, but what made this dish was the coconut cream sauce they had over it. The jasmine rice was also filling.
Since we shared the meal, our second choice was the roast duck curry, which not only was a large portion but I liked the mixed curry and tomato basil.
It was great experience overall. The staff was friendly, helpful, and the wait for food was not long. For those on a budget, the pricing was also reasonable. And there’s a bonus: Thai Chilli food contains no MSG.
