Welcome to my first installment of CLE Reads, where I'll be blogging about my favorite Cleveland authors and books. Today spotlights the graphic novel Harvey Pekar's Cleveland.

Growing up, I always looked forward to heading back to school because with the new year I received a new reading list.
As soon as I’d get home with those books in hand, I’d read through them as quickly as possible even though most of the assigned reading wouldn’t be covered for months.
Somewhere along the line, however, I stopped making as much time to read.

In an attempt to make the time and because Cleveland is home to an assortment of interesting authors, I'm undertaking a new monthly project where I’ll be reading then blogging about my favorite "CLE Reads."
For my first installment, I'm happy to spotlight Harvey Pekar’s Cleveland.

On July 12, 2010, the worlds of comics and Cleveland lost one of their greatest citizens.
Harvey Pekar's Cleveland was one of the many works he was busy with at the time of his death. Published this past April, this uncompromising graphic novel is a look at the city’s history – starting with its settlement in the late 18th century through the 1960s.
