I just wonder.
If a battery begins its power by being charged with electricity, how is this saving energy? And once the battery life has expired what land fill does this battery get dumped? It is hard enough to trash a flashlight battery, but a big car battery?
Also with the electric power surges, won’t the increased use of electricity to charge these car batteries get worse? Will we have more black outs of the power grid?

In China, they purchase 60 percent of their coal from the United States and they are very busy competing against us. So do we give them our dirty coal, and then their citizens comfortably use electricity and not worry about car batteries? For that matter, does China worry about importing its products to America?
The blue plastic bags that are used instead of brown paper bags for groceries (some might bring their own bags) are making a mess of things. These plastic bags were to save the trees. It is my understanding that it takes 20 years for these plastic bags to dissolve (the brown paper bags were great to recycle and compost). Now, these plastic bags and too many water bottles end up in our drains, landfills, littered everywhere and often thrown in bushes with dog manure stuffed inside.

By the way, once dog manure inconsiderately was in parks, yards, but eventually dissolved. Now, in these plastic bags dog manure is saved for 20 years. Was it better using plastic after all?
Regarding composting, just how many do compost? Some do not garden or want to get their hands dirty at all. Some give great compost items to the trash collector; summer salad scraps, Halloween pumpkins, hay, leftover summer potted plants and more. Thankfully, in Avon Lake, a comes around and collects and shreds branches for compost. Yet is it the inconvenience and clutter of each person’s yard reason not to compost?
I wonder how much gasoline does it take for the trash collector to drive two and three different trucks to a neighborhood; one for plastic, one for garbage and sometimes another for couches, branches and other categories of recycling. How much gasoline? I wonder.
Finally, what ever happened to the wetlands and global warming? It seemed at one time both were very significant topics of discussion. Did both go away?
Sometimes when reading about China, India and countries that do not have sewage systems, garbage collection, and they cook their meals in melted down computer metal, I wonder how these countries are keeping up with the high standards a few have imposed on many.
I wonder what new catch phrase from an Al Gore and his global warming many followers will believe and run to worship. I wonder how long America will tolerate a few pushing common sense to the edge. I just wonder.
