Your Own Treasure Map

Choices are an everyday occurrence. What if you chose to bombard yourself with positive words and images of your choosing?

Every day, every hour, and every minute you make choices in how you live your life.

Your choices come in the form of your words and actions, your thoughts and your attitude.  Are you happy with the way things are? Is there room for improvement?  You can accept the status quo or you can choose to change.

Naturally, it’s much easier to stay where you are.

Change requires great effort, but now is a terrific time to make choices that match your intentions. Early in 2011, you set goals.  Today you are barraged with other’s opinions and ideas every day, whether it’s in your office, at home or online or in print. This sensory overload can lead you from your path so that you forget what’s truly important.

Try this fun experiment: bombard yourself with positive words and images of your choosing.

Make your own treasure map.

Rummage through old photos of you and your peers plus magazine photos of folks you admire. Review books, emails you have received, your Facebook account for phrases that you “treasure.”  Review catalogues for courses you have heard will increase your knowledge, methods to build stronger relationships, and be more successful in your position. Use these cutouts to make a collage that reflects what’s important to you and what goals you want to achieve. Find pictures of your personal heroes, people who inspire you, loved ones, favorite quotations and sayings, and add them all to your collage.

Study this pick-me-up when you need a boost.  It’s amazing how this simple, playful task can keep you focused and on track!  Idea generated from ShurTech Brand's Duck Tales.
