Bullet Shell Found Near Avon Lake High
The shell was found in the grass of a traffic island in the south parking lot.
AVON LAKE, OH — A spent 9mm shell casing was found at Avon Lake High School this week, according to police records.
An off-duty Avon Lake police officer was at the high school on Sunday morning. Another person at the high school told the officer there was a bullet shell in the south lot of the high school.
The officer investigated and found the shell casing in a triangular traffic island. The island is located near the northwest entrance of the stadium, police records said.

Police records said the primer was indented and the brass casing was engraved with "BLAZER" and 9mm Luger. The casing was collected by police and then entered into evidence.
