Burglaries At 2 Avon Lake Homes Being Investigated

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating two burglaries in Avon Lake, according to police records. Jewelry and other items were stolen during one of the break-ins.

On October 14, two residents living on Legacy Pointe Parkway reported someone had broken into their home. The residents had been out of town and believe the burglary may have occurred on October 11.

The same day, a family on Walker Road discovered someone had smashed a glass door at their house, got inside and stole jewelry. Police records said the glass door gave the thief access to the residents' basement.

An Avon Lake police spokesperson said both cases are still under investigation. "While it is possible that [the burglaries] are connected, to state so at this point would be mere speculation," the spokesperson said.
