Cannabis Seized During Avon Lake Traffic Stop: Blotter

AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake police had a busy start to August, dealing with possible assaults, thefts and drug investigations.

Assault, Aug. 1 — A woman reported that a person chased down her juvenile son and punched him in the face.

Property damage, Aug. 2 — Someone damaged a residential mailbox on Avon Point Avenue.

Drug investigation, Aug. 3 — Police stopped a car for speeding on Lear Road. Officers discovered the driver had marijuana in his vehicle. The driver was cited for both speeding and possession of marijuana.

Theft, Aug. 4 — After a fight near a home on Berkshire Road, police arrested a man for theft and menacing.

Found property, Aug. 4 — A car key was found on the walking path near Electric Boulevard and Resatar Park.

Found property, Aug. 5 — A bag of golf clubs was found near the driving range at Sweetbriar. There was no owner information found on the bag, so it is currently in evidence at Avon Lake Police Department.

Juvenile complaint, Aug. 6 — Drug paraphernalia was found in a juvenile's possession. Police confiscated the items and turned the juvenile over to his parents.

Traffic complaint, Aug. 9 — A tanker truck was stopped near Lear Road. Officers discovered the truck was 69,000 pounds over the weight limit for the road.
