Car Chase Through Avon Lake Ends In Crash
Police pursued a fleeing car on March 10 until the driver wrecked her vehicle in Lorain.
AVON LAKE, OH — Avon Lake Police were led on a short car chase last week. Officers tried to stop a car on Lake Road, but the 28-year-old driver sped up and tried to flee. Unfortunately, she crashed her car in Lorain.
The chase started at about 12:55 a.m. on March 10, according to police reports. Police spotted the car on Lake Road, near Lear Road, and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The police report did not say why officers tried to pull the car over.
The driver decided to flee from police, accelerating and driving away. At one point, she turned onto the portion of Jaycox that was marked as "closed for repairs."

The woman then crashed her car in Lorain. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was charged with driving with a suspended license, fleeing police, driving on a closed road, reckless operation, and failure to comply with police.
