Car Flips Onto Its Side On Walker Road In Avon Lake
Police said they believe alcohol was involved in the crash.

AVON LAKE, OH — It was nearing midnight on July 17 when police began receiving reports of a violent car accident on Walker Road. A Pontiac Vibe had reportedly flipped onto its side in the street.
Police arrived and saw the vehicle, sitting on its drivers side, near Marcos Pizza. The Avon Lake Fire Department also rushed to the scene. Firefighters were able to pull the driver, a 66-year-old Avon Lake man, out of the car.
The driver was rushed to St. Johns Westshore for treatment. Police said the man smelled like alcohol and admitted to drinking at a bar that evening, after he was treated.

The driver refused to have his blood tested by law enforcement. He was cited for operating a vehicle impaired and failure to maintain reasonable control. Police did not indicate how the man flipped his car onto its side.
