Child Services Worker Pushed Out Of Avon Lake Home

An employee with the Lorain County Children Services program was forcibly taken out of a home while trying to meet with children.

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating after a caretaker with the Lorain County Children Services department was forcibly taken out of an Avon Lake home while on an investigation. The caretaker was looking into reports of child abuse and neglect when a woman that said she was the family's grandmother arrived and pushed the Children Services worker out of the house.

Traffic Complaint, April 19 — A 1998 Mack 4-axle log/crane truck was stopped on Pin Oak Parkway. The vehicle was weighed at the scene and determined to be over the legal weight for the street.

Theft, April 19 — A Smith & Wesson Chief Special was stolen out of a car parked on Walker Road. The gun was loaded, according to police reports.

Overdose, April 21 — Paramedics and police were called to a Lake Road home for reports of a woman that was possibly overdosing. A 59-year-old woman was found at the residence and rushed to Avon Cleveland Clinic for treatment. The woman may have overdosed on prescription medication, according to police records obtained by Patch.

Animal Complaint, April 21 — A woman's daughter and dog were attacked by another canine while walking down Belmar Boulevard. Details on the incident are scarce because police are still investigating what happened.

Theft, April 23 — Social security documents are missing from an Oakwood Drive woman's home. The 87-year-old resident's family told police it's possible the property was misplaced.

Disturbance, April 23 — A woman working as a Lorain County Children Services Caretaker came to Avon Lake Police to report that a resident had stopped them from doing their job. The woman said she was barred from looking in on children by their grandmother and was forcibly removed from the property.
