Church of the Open Door Expands for Easter

The Church now has three campuses for members and guests to attend service on Sunday.

Church of the Open Door has spread to three campuses in Elyria, Avon-Lake, and Vermilion. This creates more room and closer convenience for their upcoming Easter Sunday services.

The expansion offers three separate services at 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. per campus, where in recent years the service has been held under one roof. Last year’s service had about 3,000 people in attendance.

All three campuses will offer worship through music and a sermon with a message from the Bible. Children services are offered for them to learn in an age-appropriate environment.

Pastor of New Media and Communication Ben Fowlkes said in an article for The Morning Journal that “the goal is to reach as many people as possible for Christ. We want to have campuses near them so they feel comfortable. God is just working, doing some awesome stuff.”

Fowlkes also said that the Elyria campus has about 1,000 families attend services, while 300-400 attend Avon Lake and 150-200 attend the relatively new Vermilion one.
