Citywide Scavenger Hunt Hits Avon Lake In May

Teams will scour the city looking for clues on May 5 as part of the city's Bicentennial Celebration.

AVON LAKE, OH — A citywide scavenger hunt and party will be part of Avon Lake's Bicentennial Celebration. The May 5 event will include drinks, heavy appetizers, live music and more.

“At first we were thinking that we would have a historic house tour”, shares Scavenger Hunt Committee Chair Tomie Patton, “but then we thought the Scavenger Hunt would include more people and it would be looking at Avon Lake’s history in a very fun way."

Patton said the scavenger hunt event would likely be more inviting for a wider population.

" Avon Lake does not have a lot of old renovated, interesting homes like Lakewood, Rocky River or Tremont; but we do have our own unique history. House Tours are a different type of “fun”. Scavenger Hunt participants will really have “ah ha” moments, laugh, and have a good time at the final destination – the party," Patton said.

The Citywide Scavenger Hunt will be held May 5 and starts at 3 p.m. The first stop will be the Beach Park Station Shopping Center, 33479 Lake Road. Teams will get their first clue when they check in.
